We're committed to preserving memories for generations to come

Updated: Sep 30, 2022

Memories are precious. That isn’t news to anyone, true, but we’ve made it our mission to help be a reminder of the importance of preserving memories.

In fact, Memories In Writing is working to preserve one million stories by 2024. That’s a million memories preserved to be passed down for generations. A million little known facts that are no longer little known. A million “wow, I’m so glad you told me that about your childhood, grandma.” A million people learning a little bit more about others so they can in turn learn a little bit more about themselves.

Why do we believe so deeply in the preservation of memories? Because just about everyone reading this has been touched, in some way, by memory loss – whether dementia, Alzheimer’s or any other cause. Most of us, should we live long enough, will love someone whose memories will fade.

It may even impact some of us directly. The Alzheimer’s Association reports more than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s or dementia at this moment.

The impact of that number multiplies once we consider how many people love each of those 6 million individuals and all of the families whose loved ones were already lost to the disease.

The Alzheimer’s Association and other organizations are doing important work to research treatments, prevention and, hopefully one day, a cure.

It is for that reason Memories In Writing is committing to donating $100 to organizations that support Alzheimer's and Dementia Research, Care & Support for every 25 products sold.

We at Memories In Writing know all too well the impact of losing a loved one to Alzheimer’s or dementia. That’s why we are committed to the fight for progress against these challenges while we continue to work to preserve one million stories through our thoughtful prompts, questions, interviews and workbooks.
